After a rushed courtship, Catherine arrives at her new home with her new husband. Thornwood Abbey is a fog shrouded manor with cold staff and drafty empty halls. No matter how eerie it is, its worlds better than the asylum she escaped from. Determined to keep her unsavory past from her husband, Catherine tries to be the perfect gentleman’s wife. Though the bloody, heartless ghost predicting her murder is making it difficult to appear sane. Hallucinating ghosts and fae sent her to the asylum. Learning to ignore them gave her a second chance at a normal life and she refuses to go back.

Then she wanders too close to the forbidden Thornwood forest and discovers a thorn covered door to nowhere, guarded by a handsome stranger, Ray Thorn, who warns her to stay away. She thinks it’s all another delusion or ravings of a superstitious gardener. None of her neighbors or staff seem to believe the Fae are real, except for one person, her husband’s one time sweetheart and childhood friend who tries to warn her away from the fae. But before she can tell Catherine what she knows about the Fae, she’s murdered and her heart is cut out. Even more disturbing, no one remembers the murder except Catherine and Ray.

Either the locals are turning a blind eye or Catherine and Ray’s sanity is slipping. What’s more likely is something is hunting in Thornwood and cutting out women’s hearts and Catherine may be next. Catherine must make a choice, close her eyes and hope the problem goes away or put her tenuous trust in Ray. Who will either prove to be her savior or her killer.
